BOARD MEMBERSHIP
Community Action of Ventura County, Inc. (CAVC) is a non-profit community action agency helping people through programs that promote dignity through self-sufficiency with the aid of private businesses and individuals with Federal, State and Local support.
CAVC has a Tripartite Board. The means makeup of the Board consists of 1/3 elected public officials or their representatives, 1/3 from the low-income sector or their representatives, and the remainder officials or members representing of private sector organizations such as business, industry, social service, or other non-profit entities.
CAVC is currently recruiting for Low-Income Board Representatives and Alternates.
If you are interested in serving on the CAVC Board of Directors, representing the low-income population of Ventura County, please check the following Districts for your area of residence, and print out an application.

District 1 Low Income Sector
The First District overall, includes all of the following communities: San Buenaventura, Montalvo, Saticoy, Oxnard Shores, Mandalay Bay, Northwest Oxnard, North Ventura Avenue, Foster Park, Casitas Springs, Oak View, Mira Monte, Meiners Oaks, City of Ojai, Eastern Ojai Valley, and Upper Ojai, North Coast. (The current county supervisor for District 1 is Mr. Steve Bennett.)

District 2 Low Income Sector
The Second District includes of the following communities: Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park Westlake Village, Lynn Ranch, Oak Park, Santa Rosa Valley, Bell Canyon, Hidden Valley, Lake Sherwood, Malibu – Yerba Buena, Portions of the Oxnard Plain, Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, and South Coast. (The current county supervisor for District 2 is Ms. Linda Parks.)

District 3 Low Income Sector
The Third District overall, includes all of the following communities: Camarillo, California State University/Channel Islands, Port Hueneme, Southeast Oxnard, East Oxnard Plain, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru, Lockwood Valley, and Eastern Portion of Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. (The current county supervisor for District 3 is Ms. Kathy Long.)

The Fourth District overall, includes all of the following communities: Simi Valley, Moorpark, Somis, Las Posas Valley, Santa Susana Knolls, Box Canyon, Chatsworth Peak, Home Acres, Sinaloa Lake, and Tierra Rejada Valley. (The current county supervisor for District 4 is Mr. Peter Foy).

The Fifth District overall, includes all of the following communities: Oxnard, Silver Strand, Hollywood Beach, Hollywood By the Sea, Channel Islands Harbor, El Rio, Nyeland Acres, Del Norte Area, Oxnard College, Portions of Oxnard Plain, and Western Portion of Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. (The current county supervisor for District 5 is Mr. John Zaragoza).
