By statute, Community Action Boards of Directors are to have a tripartite structure. One third shall be elected public officials or their representatives; one-third shall be persons who are low-income or who work for an agency that serves the low-income population; and the remainder shall be officials or members of business, industry, labor, religious, law enforcement, education or other major groups in the community. 

The Board of Director of Community Action of Ventura County consists of 12-15 members, from each of the three sectors mentioned above. They meet the second Monday of each month from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at our facility at 621 Richmond Ave., Oxnard, CA 93030. Public Sector Board Member Recruitment

Public Sector board members are appointed by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors and are confirmed by the CAVC Board of Directors. If you  are interested in a future board opening email us and let us know the district in which you reside, so we can notify you when a seat in open.
