Help us raise funds for our Homeless Services showers today!

Community Action of Ventura County needs YOUR help with an emergency need for Ventura County’s unsheltered community members!

We need to raise $20,000 by July 28th to fund renovations of our current showers, so they will comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). These renovations will enable us to better serve our neighbors and community members.

Without these renovations, we will have to close our showers, meaning unsheltered individuals who rely on us for care and warm showers will not have access to this vital service we provide.

But, this is where you come in. We can’t do this without your help! Can we count on your support to ensure we can continue to serve Ventura County’s unsheltered community members?

A key part of our Homeless Services program is providing warm showers to those without reliable housing. In 2021, we provided 1,440 showers to our community members, many of whom come to CAVC on Mondays and Fridays specifically for a warm shower. They’ve come to count on us to care for them and support their basic needs. Showers can help restore dignity, increase optimism, and bring humanization to those experiencing homelessness. In this time of COVID, they can also be crucial to the proper health and hygiene that slows the spread of coronavirus.
